A rare meteorite, named Qweba, has captivated scientists and the public alike after its recent fall in the Eastern Cape. Discovered in the area formerly known as Kirkwood, now Nqweba, the meteorite sparked collaboration among researchers from Wits, Rhodes, and Nelson Mandela University.
The meteorite's journey through space and its origin are being meticulously investigated. Tiny fragments were scattered across a 100 kilometer area, with reports coming from Cape St Francis and Kirkwood.
